Japan’s First Besançon Observatory Chronometer
The Chateau Nouvel Chronometer, the first model of the New TAKANO, is maufactured by Precision Watch Tokyo, headed by Hajime Asaoka. This chronometer has been officially certified by the Besançon Observatory in France and It is the first Japan-made watch in history to pass the prestige chronometer certification of the Besançon Observatory. The snake’s head hallmark, visible through the case back, is proof of this certification and a symbol of pride, inheriting TAKANO’s legacy of precision timekeeping.
The case measures 37 mm in diameter and is crafted from stainless steel, featuring full Zaratsu polishing with a mirror finish. For the details, the Chateau Nouvel Chronometer incorporates the Skyscraper hands, a signature design element of Hajime Asaoka. The distinctive curve at the tips of the hands echoes the gentle curvature of the domed dial and crystal, creating a beautifully harmonious aesthetic.
The movement is based on a 4Hz Japanese automatic caliber, precisely adjusted to chronometer specifications by Precision Watch To
